Primary Purpose:
Assist the school principal in the overall administration of instructional programs and campus-level operations. Coordinate assigned student activities and services. Support a positive school climate conducive to high student achievement, staff collaboration, and community engagement.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:

Master’s degree in educational administration or related field

Valid Texas principal certification (or mid-management certification)

T-TESS appraisal certification (or willingness to obtain)
Experience:

Minimum of three years of successful classroom teaching experience, preferably at the elementary level

Leadership experience preferred (e.g., team lead, instructional coach, committee chair)
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Instructional Leadership

Assist the principal in monitoring the implementation of curriculum and instruction.

Participate in data analysis and campus improvement planning.

Observe classroom instruction and provide coaching/feedback to teachers.

Help lead professional learning communities and staff development initiatives.
Student Management
-
Implement campus discipline procedures in alignment with the Student Code of Conduct.

Promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.

Collaborate with teachers, parents, and counselors to support student behavior and social-emotional needs.

Coordinate student activities, arrival/dismissal procedures, and supervision schedules.
Personnel Management

Assist in recruiting, selecting, and orienting new staff.

Support the appraisal and growth of instructional staff.

Help monitor staff attendance and substitute coverage.
School Operations

Support the principal in campus operations, including schedules, testing coordination, transportation, safety drills, and special events.

Serve on or lead campus committees and initiatives.

Communicate with parents and community members on behalf of the campus.
Other

Perform duties as assigned by the principal or district administration.

Comply with all district policies, state and federal laws, and campus procedures.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervise certified and non-certified staff and volunteers as assigned.
Working Conditions:
Mental Demands: Ability to handle stress, coordinate multiple tasks, problem solve, and work with a diverse population.
Physical Demands: Regular walking, standing, sitting, lifting up to 25 lbs.
Environment: May require evening and weekend work; fast-paced school setting.
