GENERAL PURPOSE:
Organize, manage, and coordinate the daily functions within the kitchen and restaurant, as well as the team members who carry out these functions. Ensure delivery of excellent service and meals for a first-rate resident and guest dining experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greet residents, visitors, and team members courteously.
- Manage all aspects of table service ensuring resident preferences are accommodated and excellent service provided to customers and guests.
- Respect dignity and confidentiality standards and promote resident rights.
- Oversee food delivery and service for memory care areas. Ensure all food supplies and necessary items are stocked and available.
- Ensure all dining rooms, including private dining room are fully set at all times.
- Monitor food temperatures prior to serving.
- Assist with special meals and parties.
- Ensure work areas are clean and safe.
- Ensure daily or scheduled cleaning duties are completed according to assignment.
- Ensure proper storage of food, supplies, and chemicals.
- Ensure cleaners and other hazardous materials are used according to department procedure.
- Follow community fire safety and infection control practices.
- Promptly report any unsafe conditions or equipment, and ensure repair or replacement occurs in a reasonable time frame.
- Will assume all other duties as assigned.
LEADERSHIP FUNCTIONS:
- Increase team member recognition and reward through performance reviews and promotion.
- Attend and participate in training, in-services, and team member meetings, as requested.
- Understand and implement all emergency plans including fire, earthquake, and other disasters. Assist in monthly training for team members and yearly evacuation plans for team members and residents.

SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED, Culinary Certificate or Degree preferred
- Three to Four (3-4) years culinary and dining management experience
- Current ServSafe Certificate
- Current driver’s license
- Knowledge of processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Knowledge of management principles involved in resource allocation, human resources, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
- Knowledge of methods for training design, instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.
- Ability to manage and counsel team dynamic, inventory, safety, cleanliness, budget and expenses.
- Exceptional listening and communication skills to effectively conveys information verbally and in writing.
- Understands and displays proper food safety procedures, cooking temperatures, sanitation of kitchen and equipment and storage techniques and temperatures
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Physical Demands include: Standing, Walking, Sitting, Bending, Reaching, Pushing, Pulling, Climbing Stairs, Grasping, Manual Dexterity, Vision Acuity, Color Vision, Talking, Hearing, Tasting/Smelling, and Feeling.
The weight determined to be appropriate for a Culinary Experience Director to lift with or without reasonable accommodations is up to 50 lbs.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
- Work in a warm, humid and/or cold environment that includes exposure to hot and cold surfaces.
- Except where appropriate and conducive to accomplishing the goals and objectives of a particular task, the Culinary Experience Director will work in a well-lighted area that is ventilated and as physically and physiologically innocuous as possible under the conditions which exist at a particular time.
- Drive independently to conduct outside community business and able to travel by airplane.
