REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES: Under the direction of assigned supervisor/administrator, performs a variety of activities in support of instructional programs for students with disabilities, including students with emotional disturbance or related disorder; assists teachers and staff in development and implementation of program and materials to enhance the student’s learning experience; implements individualized instructional programs within the school setting for children who have been diagnosed with emotional disturbance or related disorder; prepares appropriate materials; supports children as they transition into general education settings; collects daily progress data and consults with the student’s IEP team on a regular basis; and performs related work as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Completion of formal or informal education sufficient to possess the necessary skills, knowledge, and abilities established for the position; must possess a secondary (i.e. high school) school diploma, or its equivalent (GED). Advanced education, such as an Associate (AA) degree, or Bachelor’s degree is highly desirable.
Experience working with students with disabilities in an education setting is desirable.
Must possess of valid California Driver’s License during course of employment; must be insurable at standard rates and maintain such insurability during the course of employment.
