Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Dealership Parts Manager to lead our parts department with enthusiasm and expertise. Responsibilities
- Manage the entire parts department, including purchasing, inventory control, and order management systems, to ensure timely availability of parts for automotive service and repair.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) and suppliers, negotiating pricing and sourcing agreements that benefit the dealership.
- Oversee warehouse management activities such as shipping & receiving, storage optimization, and equipment repair to ensure efficient operations.
- Utilize ERP systems, CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System), AS400, and other inventory management tools to track stock levels, demand planning, and procurement activities.
- Coordinate logistics for shipping & receiving processes, ensuring accurate data entry and documentation for all transactions.
- Lead demand planning efforts by analyzing sales trends and forecasting future parts needs to prevent shortages or overstock situations.
- Supervise team members involved in inventory management, procurement, and customer service to foster a collaborative work environment focused on excellence.
Requirements
- Proven experience in dealership or automotive parts management with a strong understanding of automotive diagnostics, auto body repair, and automotive service operations.
- Extensive knowledge of supply chain management, procurement management, sourcing strategies, and negotiation skills.
- Familiarity with warehouse experience including shipping & receiving procedures, inventory control systems, and equipment repair.
- Proficiency in ERP systems such as AS400 or similar order management systems; experience with CMMS is a plus.
- Mechanical knowledge of automotive components combined with expertise in inventory management software like Inventory Management or ERP systems.
- Ability to operate forklifts safely; valid forklift certification preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for data entry and inventory accuracy.
- Excellent customer service skills paired with effective communication abilities to collaborate across departments and with external suppliers.
