- Design, implement, and evaluate holistic wellness programs including yoga, guided meditation, breathwork, mindfulness, sound therapy, and emotional recovery workshops.
- Lead group classes and/or workshops as needed in your area of expertise.
- Ensure programs are inclusive, adaptable, and meet the mental and emotional needs of diverse populations (e.g., youth, seniors, trauma survivors, etc.).
- Develop strategic initiatives that align wellness programming with YMCA’s mission and community health needs.
- Partner with local mental health organizations, wellness professionals, and community leaders to expand impact and service offerings.
- Recruit, train, and manage qualified instructors and facilitators for wellness programming.
- Provide professional development, mentorship, and regular performance feedback.
- Monitor participation and outcomes; implement evaluation tools to assess program effectiveness and impact.
- Maintain accurate records, prepare reports, and communicate program success to leadership and stakeholders.
- Promote programs through workshops, events, marketing materials, and social media.
- Engage members through wellness consultations, individual check-ins, and personalized wellness pathways.
- Bachelor’s degree in Wellness, Psychology, Social Work, Holistic Health, Exercise Science, or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in program development or wellness leadership, preferably in a community-based or nonprofit setting.
- Certifications in at least one of the following Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200 or higher), Certified Meditation Teacher, Sound Healing, Trauma-Informed Practices, or related holistic modalities.
- Deep understanding of mental health, trauma recovery, and emotional wellness best practices.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- CPR/AED and First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire).
- Passion for advancing health equity and serving diverse populations.
- Experience working in a YMCA or similar nonprofit environment.
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities.
- Experience with grant writing or program funding.
- This position requires a flexible schedule, including evenings and occasional weekends.
- May involve light physical activity and/or teaching wellness classes.
