Join one of Washington State's largest sports card, gaming, and comic book stores! West Coast Sports Cards is a locally owned business with over 30 years of history, and we're looking for a passionate and knowledgeable Sports Cards Specialist to join our team.

We are looking for someone who has a strong knowledge of sports cards and the sports card market and enjoys working with collectors. This position involves both customer service and the buying and selling of sports cards, so the ability to accurately evaluate cards, research current market values, and communicate with customers is important.

Responsibilities:

• Sales & Customer Service: Engage with customers, provide knowledgeable assistance, and help customers find, buy, and sell sports cards and related collectibles.
• Buying & Evaluations: Evaluate sports cards and collections for condition, authenticity, desirability, and current market value.
• Market Research: Research recent sales and market trends to help establish accurate buying and selling prices.
• Sports Knowledge: Stay current on player performances, trades, injuries, prospects, team news, and other developments that can affect the sports card market.
• Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory, price cards and products, restock shelves, and help keep the store organized.
• Administrative Duties: Answer phone calls, handle cash transactions, and assist with general day-to-day store and office tasks.
• Product Knowledge: Stay informed about new releases, grading trends, major sets, manufacturers, and developments within the sports card industry.
• Online Marketplaces: Assist with researching and selling products through online marketplaces and auction platforms.

Requirements:

• In-depth knowledge of various sports, including player statistics, teams, and historical trends.
• Strong understanding of sports cards market dynamics, grading standards, and pricing factors.
• Proven experience in buying and selling sports cards, memorabilia, or collectibles.
• Familiarity with online marketplaces, auction platforms, and sports card grading companies.
• Excellent research and analytical skills to identify market trends and assess card values.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently, make informed decisions, and meet sales targets.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in appraisals, inventory management, and financial records.
• Passion for sports and an eagerness to stay updated with industry developments.

Qualifications:

• Sports Knowledge: Strong knowledge of professional and/or collegiate sports, including players, teams, statistics, prospects, and historical trends.
• Sports Card Knowledge: Strong understanding of sports cards, including sets, players, manufacturers, grading, condition, scarcity, and factors that influence card values.
• Experience: Previous experience buying and selling sports cards, collectibles, or related products is strongly preferred.
• Customer Service Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Must be comfortable talking with collectors and explaining products, values, and options to customers.
• Research Skills: Ability to research recent sales and use available market information to make informed pricing and buying decisions.
• Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain organized workspaces, and handle inventory accurately.
• Technical Skills: Basic Microsoft Office and Point-of-Sale experience. Familiarity with online marketplaces, auction platforms, and spreadsheets is a plus.
• Grading Knowledge: Familiarity with professional grading companies such as PSA, Beckett, SGC, and CGC is a plus.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk throughout the shift and lift 10–30 pounds periodically.
