We have an immediate opportunity for a Corporate Controller to join our team in Seattle. In this role, you will be responsible for multi-unit hospitality accounting and reporting. This includes overseeing the full accounting cycle, ensuring the integrity of financial data, compliance with GAAP, regulatory standards and company policies, and providing strategic financial insights to support company growth.
Primary Duties include:
- Direct and manage all accounting operations, overseeing the preparation, analysis, and timely submission of accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements for all properties and the management company.
- Oversee treasury operations, cash management, and banking relationships.
- Lead the annual budgeting process for all hotel and restaurant entities as well as the management company; Conduct variance analysis (actual vs. budget/forecast).
- Prepare and analyze cash flow reports, balance sheets, and profit and loss (P&L) statements.
- Lead. mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a high-performance culture; Provide leadership and guidance to corporate and property-level accounting staff and oversee company IT and HR functions at the corporate level.
- Oversee tax, compliance, and audit activities in coordination with external advisors; implement recommendations to strengthen internal controls and improve accuracy.
- Partner with the President/CEO to provide financial insights, trend analysis, and scenario modeling to support data-driven business decisions.
- Support acquisitions, dispositions, and other growth initiatives.
- Collaborate with external auditors, tax advisors, lenders, lawyers and investors.
Successful candidates will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA preferred.
- Proven experience as a Controller or similar senior financial management role, with 3-6 years’ experience in the hospitality industry.
- Demonstrated multi-property oversight experience.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and financial modeling; hospitality-specific accounting and property management systems (PMS) software experience (e.g., M3, Opera, Oracle) preferred.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge including GAAP, real estate accounting, internal controls, and compliance.
- Demonstrated success leading teams through growth, change, and continuous improvement with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Ability to solve problems involving several different options and convey the positive and negative attributes of these options to leadership.
- Excellent communication skills including the ability to negotiate, explain complex concepts and issues, and use tact and diplomacy in sensitive situations.
Compensation: $120,000 - $160,000 annually, based on experience, plus discretionary annual bonus
