Position Title: Elementary Assistant Principal and Preschool Administrator
Reports to Building Principal
Location: Batavia Local Schools, Batavia Elementary
Position Type: Full-time, 220 Day Contract
Start Date: August 1, 2026
Qualifications:
- Masters Degree or higher in Educational Administration or related field
- Valid Ohio Principal License or certification appropriate for the assignment
- Deep understanding of the Science of Reading, Early Childhood Development, and Preschool Licensing Standards
- Knowledge of PBIS and MTSS
- Strong instructional coaching skills, data-driven decision-making, and ability to foster collaborative relationships with staff and families
Preferred:
- Prior administrative or instructional leadership
- Experience in early childhood education
- Experience with data driven decision making and MTSS
Key Responsibilities
- Preschool Supervision & Leadership:
- Oversee daily operations of the preschool program, ensuring compliance with state licensing standards and district requirements.
- Support screening, evaluation, enrollment and transition processes.
- Collaborate with related service providers (speech, OT, PT etc) to ensure services are delivered appropriately.
- Provide hands-on coaching and mentoring to early childhood teachers and aides, focusing on developmentally appropriate practices.
- Manage preschool enrollment, transitions between preschool and kindergarten, and foster positive family engagement.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for preschool families, fostering an inclusive and collaborative environment.
- Early Literacy Leadership (PreK-2):
- Act as the instructional leader for early literacy, coaching teachers in science of reading research and high-quality classroom practices.
- Utilize screening and diagnostic assessment data to monitor progress and guide intervention strategies.
- Support the implementation of literacy interventions and ensure fidelity of instructional programs.
- Essential Functions:
- Support building PBIS and MTSS implementation
- Coordinate building supervision schedules, arrival/dismissal procedures and student routines
- Participate in IEP meetings, ensuring proper service delivery for students in Pre-K -2nd grade.
- Collaborate with the elementary administrative team on staff development, student discipline, and campus safety
- Supervise, evaluate and promote the professional growth of teachers and support staff
