What are the responsibilities and job description for the Utility Custodian position at West Chicago Elementary School District 33?
- Previous custodial or related experience.
- English/Spanish fluency preferred.
- Ability to interact positively with young children, parents, and staff.
- Willingness to adapt to interruptions.
- Ability to operate and maintain heating, plumbing, and ventilation systems.
- General knowledge of cleaning equipment and techniques.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 40 pounds.
- Assumes responsibility for the appearance and function of assigned building and grounds.
- Completes cleaning schedule for the areas assigned within the frequency requirements provided, including, but not limited to, hallways, lounges, classrooms, and restrooms
- Inspects and locks building before leaving for the day.
- Assists in the unloading and delivery of supplies and equipment being delivered.
- Transports trash and waste to dumpster site and maintains this disposal area.
- Regulates building temperatures, as specified.
- Attends departmental and training meetings.
- Works cooperatively with the Head Custodian and Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds.
