The Assistant Coach is responsible for supporting all duties associated with successful coaching at the college level. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills to be a positive role model and representative of the university. This position requires the ability to travel extensively on both weekdays and weekends.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist the Head Coach in fulfilling all responsibilities associated with successful coaching at the college level
- Identify and recruit athletically and academically qualified student-athletes
- Schedule and organize practice sessions
- Coach techniques and tactics in practice sessions
- Coach on game day
- Monitor academic progress and promote student-athlete well-being
- Assist with the management of equipment, team travel, and budget
- Assist with administrative duties
- Support alumni relations and fundraising
- Organize and administer camps and clinics
- Breakdown video for team and individual sessions
- Follow and demonstrate support for all policies and regulations of West Chester University, Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference, and the National Collegiate Athletic Association
- Travel for recruiting and competition
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree
- Collegiate or professional soccer playing experience
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends
- Previous collegiate, high school, or club-level soccer coaching experience
- Knowledge of and conformity to NCAA rules
- Recruiting experience
Salary and benefits are dictated by the Association of Pennsylvania State College and University Faculties (APSCUF) Non-Faculty Coaches Collective Bargaining Agreement.
