What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant position at West Central School Corporation?
Cooperative School Services is based in Rensselaer, Indiana, and serves nine school corporations (Benton Community, Frontier, Kankakee Valley, North Newton, North White, Rensselaer Central, South Newton, Tri-County and West Central). The position covers multiple school buildings and requires a personal vehicle for travel with mileage reimbursement.
Position: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) working with students with IEPs (preschool – high school). This is a school year position. Pediatric experience is preferred. If a COTA cannot be found, an OT Paraprofessional will be considered for the position.
Terms of Employment: 185 School Days (Generally early August – late May)/ 7.5 hours per day, Non-Certified School Contract. Salary and benefits commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Qualifications: Licensed Occupational Therapist Assistant in Indiana with valid certification as required by the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency (IPLA).
Start Date: Early August 2026
Duties:
- Implement occupational therapy treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist, Registered (OTR).
- Complete required documentation in a timely manner.
- Assist with therapy activities, materials, and service delivery.
- Collaborate with school staff to support students' occupational therapy needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the OTR.
