What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cook position at West Central Illinois Aging Network?
Responsibility for kitchen (including staff in the absence of the Kitchen Manager.) Responsible for leading the shift in the production of meals for meal sites, home delivered meals, frozen meals, and special events, as required. Prepare food for cooking in a timely manner and with care given to safeguard the food’s quality and integrity. Food Handler’s Sanitation Certificate is mandatory. Will prepare food for Supportive Living Facility, Home Delivered meals, Congregate meals, and any other duties that may be required from time to time. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Cook Entrée’s for Lunch Meal
- Ready Bulk Food (Entrée) For Delivery to Counties
- Ready Bulk Food (Entrée’s) For Hot HDM
- Cook/Reheat Soup for Lunch
- Prep Entrée’s for Supper Meal
- Take Out Trash as Needed
- Keep area clean and free from debris at all time
- May be required to serve food on 4th floor if needed
- Other Duties as Assigned
Qualifications:
- Previous Kitchen experience
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Food Sanitation Certification required, Food Manager Certification is a plus/bonus
This position requires individuals to work closely with the Kitchen Manager and the kitchen staff. Every other weekend required. Must be able to work well with the kitchen team and work well with the employees of other departments. Must have a personality that is able to serve the residents and clients within the Quincy Senior & Family Resource Center.
Pay: $16.15 - $21.85 per hour
