Position Summary: Creates final mechanicals with attention to composition, color, typography and visual impact.
Role Qualifications
- Must be able to effectively execute design solutions against a creative brief to meet constraints of cost, time and client needs
- Must work well in a team with printers, copywriters, photographers, proofreaders, other designers, account executives, website designers and marketing specialists
- Designs and executes mechanicals based on client specifications, brand standards, budget constraints and final format needed for file output
- Determines size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy, selects style and size of type, and arranges layout based on specs and aesthetic design concepts
- Presents sample to creative director for approval
- Provides final pre-flight of digital files that are delivered to clients and vendors to ensure the accuracy of the completed project
- Reviews proofs from vendors
- Executes in a wide range of channels, utilizing knowledge of design for digital, animation and print
- Keeps abreast of developments in marketing and advertising environments
- Contributes ideas and design artwork to the overall brief
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or a related field
- A minimum of 1 year of graphic design experience
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
- Proficiency in graphic design software in a Mac environment, such as Figma and Adobe Creative Suite
- Ability to execute files using Microsoft Office applications such as PowerPoint, Word and Excel
- Thinks creatively to produce new ideas
- Ability to think visually and envision a project from beginning to end
- Must be able to solve complex problems, make judgments and decisions, and think logically and critically
- Ability to multitask while meeting tight deadlines
