Job Description
We are looking for a Part-time Medical Assistant or CMA, Mon-Thursday from 1-5pm for a growing Family Practice in Cary. Work or training experience in the Medical field or a Certified Medical Assistant is a requirement
Maintains efficient patient flow and assists with patient care (ie, vitals, assessments, procedures), physician's schedule and performs tasks assigned by physicians. Pay range is based on experience.
Required skills and Responsibilities:
Performed ECG, give injections, and obtain laboratory specimens as ordered in current day's patient record, (phlebotomy preferred)
Collect laboratory specimens; perform in house testing for rapid strep, u/a dipstick, pregnancy, blood glucose by fingerstick
Check patient in and out for doctor or lab visit
Assist physician with exams, including patient and equipment set up
Records patient data prior to physician visit
Schedule patients for laboratory work, follow ups, imaging studies. Prepares and stocks exam rooms, order supplies as needed
Arranges for pre-authorizations and pre-certifications as needed
Obtains new patient records and previous test results (medical records)Clear patient exam rooms & ready for next patient
Answer phones and triage as necessary
Maintains a clean work environment
Take phone messages, prepare and relay telephone encounters as needed
Restock lab supplies, check exam rooms and prepare for the next day, check bathrooms for cleanliness and supply needs. Dress code would be scrub/nursing uniform. Collect and prepare laboratory specimens, label, transmit (via computer), and store for pickup. Friendly Customer Service is a must!
