West Bridgewater Public Schools seeks a compassionate and collaborative Registered Nurse to serve as a 0.5 FTE Float School Nurse. This newly created position will be housed primarily at the Rose L. MacDonald School to assist with the growing population of students requiring intensive diabetes management and other health needs. The Float Nurse will also provide nursing coverage and support throughout the district as needed.
There is potential for this position to increase to 0.6 FTE pending grant funding approval.
Schedule
0.5 FTE: 8:30 AM – 12:10 PM
0.6 FTE: 8:30 AM – 12:50 PM (pending grant funding)
Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care to students in accordance with Massachusetts Department of Public Health regulations and standards of nursing practice.
Assist with the management of students with Type 1 diabetes and other chronic health conditions.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
Assess and respond to student illness, injury, and medical emergencies.
Maintain accurate student health records and documentation.
Participate in state-mandated screenings and other required school health activities.
Collaborate with families, healthcare providers, school staff, and administrators.
Provide nursing coverage throughout the district as needed due to staff absences or increased student health needs.
Support the implementation of Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs), Emergency Care Plans, and 504 accommodations.
Salary : $29,038 - $37,502
