West Boylston Public Schools is seeking a Therapeutic Learning Program Teacher to provide specialized instruction and social-emotional support to middle and high school students with significant social, emotional, and behavioral needs. This role focuses on creating a structured, supportive environment that promotes academic progress, emotional regulation, and positive behavioral outcomes. The teacher collaborates closely with clinical staff and the IEP team to support students in accessing the curriculum and developing coping and self-management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
*Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned with students’ academic and social-emotional needs
*Provide differentiated instruction in core academic areas within a therapeutic classroom setting
*Integrate social-emotional learning (SEL), coping strategies, and self-regulation skills into daily instruction
*Create and maintain a structured, predictable, and trauma-sensitive classroom environment
*Implement positive behavior supports and individualized behavior intervention plans
*Collaborate with school counselors, social workers, psychologists, and outside providers
*Support students during times of emotional dysregulation using de-escalation strategies
*Collect and analyze behavioral and academic data to inform instruction and interventions
*Supervise and support paraprofessionals in implementing behavioral and instructional strategies
*Facilitate student transitions, reintegration opportunities, and inclusion experiences when appropriate
*Maintain consistent communication with families regarding student progress
*Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
