Overview

Our well established private dental practice is looking for a fantastic Dental Hygienist to join our team!

The ideal candidate will play a crucial role, not only in providing high-quality dental care to our patients but also in our dynamic and fun-loving team atmosphere.

As a Dental Hygienist on our team, you will be responsible for performing various clinical tasks, providing patient education, and sharing our passion to

treat our patients with the highest standard of care for optimal weliness

The reason we are looking is because one of our beloved Hygienists lives long-distance and is going down to one day per week

Position is for 1-3 days per week, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesdays available with the option to

negotiate within those days

Our hygiene hours are from 7 am 6 pm, with the option of negotiating within those hours

Duties

  • Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to promote healthy teeth and gums.
  • Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans.
  • Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment while adhering to infection prevention protocols.
  • Educate patients on proper dental care techniques, including brushing, flossing, and dietary advice tailored to pediatric dentistry when applicable.
  • Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems like Dentrix), documenting treatment details, medical records, and medical coding accurately.
  • Follow strict HIPAA compliance guidelines to protect patient confidentiality and ensure secure handling of all medical records.
  • Implement infection control procedures using aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination and uphold healthcare infection prevention standards.
  • Monitor patient vital signs before procedures to ensure safety during treatment sessions.
  • Support the team with general dentistry tasks as needed, including preparing treatment rooms and sterilizing dental equipment.

Qualifications

  • Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with state regulations.
  • Proven experience in dental office settings with familiarity in dental office workflows and EMR systems such as Dentrix.
  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical coding practices.
  • Hands-on experience with dental x-ray procedures and understanding of dental equipment operation.
  • Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively about their oral health needs.
  • Demonstrated expertise in infection prevention management, aseptic techniques, and healthcare infection control standards.
  • Ability to perform detailed patient assessments including vital signs measurement and medical history review.
  • Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices is a plus for working with younger patients.
  • Commitment to HIPAA compliance management and maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Prior experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry environments is preferred but not required.

Pay: $60.00 - $75.00 per hour
