Responsibilities
- Assist dentists chairside during various procedures, including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments and ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly according to dental sterilization procedures.
- Take and develop dental x-rays and 3D scans using advanced medical imaging technology while maintaining strict adherence to infection control protocols.
- Manage patient records accurately using patient management software . Open Dental experience a plus but will train.
- Collect vital signs and medical history information to support comprehensive patient assessments.
- Support patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions, and ensuring comfort throughout visits.
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment by processing dental instruments and adhering to infection prevention management standards.
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient patient flow using dental receptionist skills and medical documentation best practices.
Experience
- Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in general dentistry procedures.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to oral health care.
- Hands-on experience with dental equipment including X-ray machines, sterilizers, and 3D scanners.
- Proficiency in dental assisting techniques such as four-handed dentistry and chairside assisting.
- Familiarity with EMR systems like Open Dental for managing electronic health records efficiently.
- Understanding of infection control practices aligned with healthcare infection prevention and control expertise.
- Ability to handle medical coding and documentation accurately while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies.
