The goal of our Personal Training department is to encourage, coach and educate our members on the many benefits of regular exercise. As a Personal Trainer, you are responsible for motivating and inspiring clients by setting goals, providing feedback and accountability, and creating enjoyable and effective fitness experiences.
The ideal candidate for this role will have a passion for fitness, great people skills, a willingness to learn, and a strong desire to help others achieve their goals. The ideal candidate will have a high sense of empathy, communication/active listening skills, a generally positive attitude, and will be approachable and patient.

This is a part-time position.
Key Responsibilities
· Provide a fantastic member experience that is educational, supportive, and upholds the core values of The West Allis - West Milwaukee Recreation & Community Services Department
· Conduct fitness consultations for new clients including pre-participation screening
· Assess fitness levels and health history
· Set realistic and achievable fitness goals
· Develop personalized workout plans
· Complete all administrative requirements associated with each client’s fitness plan
· Demonstrate exercises and correct form
· Instruct clients to use gym equipment properly to complete their workout
· Provide motivation and accountability
· Monitor client progress and adjust plans
· Remain current on certifications and new trends in the industry
· Maintain a clean and organized workout area
· Provide fitness floor assistance to all members to ensure safety, provide education, and motivate members
· Fulfill member service requirements such as equipment operations, service duties and fitness equipment cleaning
· Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
· Personal Training Certification through one of the following accreditations: ACE, ACSM, ISSA, NASM, NCSF or NSCA
· Current CPR/AED certification
Benefits:
· Hourly pay rate: $20-$25/hour
