PURPOSE
To create a friendly, calm, helpful atmosphere to all who enter our office.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
To assist the counselors, psychologist, resource officer, nurse in any way possible to help their jobs run smoothly. To maintain accurate student records. To help create a close working relationship with the main office.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Notify students/parents of the beginning of school and explain material at registration.
- Maintain a computer listing of all general and scheduled information such as staff lists, master schedules, student handouts, teacher's notices, and bell schedules.
- Assist students and parents with registration. Prepare cum file, records, and requests, etc.
- Maintain cum file on all student transfers.
- Maintain supply of all forms used by counselors, psychologists, students, etc.
- Request and distribute various computer reports for counselors, teachers, principal, and secretaries.
- Order all counseling supplies at beginning of and throughout the year.
- Pick up and distribute mail from main office to appropriate person.
- Maintain IBM System 36 computer (backing up, changing paper, etc.).
- Keep all transcripts current and process transcript request.
- Type student letters of recommendation for college scholarships.
- Help with open house, parent night, and parent/teacher conferences. (typing notices, bulk mailing, etc.)
- Perform other tasks as assigned by principal.
QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma, successful experience in clerical work, proficiency in typing and word
processing and ability to deal effectively with the public as well as strong public relations skills.
