Sr. Software Engineer
ROLE
We need an experienced Senior Software Engineer at NAVSEA’s Safety and Regulatory Compliance Directorate (SEA 09) in support of the Navy Modernization (NM) Program. SEA 09P is responsible for developing and maintaining the Navy Modernization Process (NMP), policies, and supporting information systems that govern the planning, engineering, and execution of modernization across the surface fleet. This contract supports SEA 09P in advancing modernization process standardization, continuous improvement, and integration with the Navy’s digital engineering and IT systems. In this role, you will lead software development and integration activities for modernization tools and applications within an Agile DevSecOps environment. This is a full-time opportunity. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leads software design, development, and implementation of modernization tools and applications
- Applies Agile and DevSecOps principles to support iterative development and deployment
- Oversees code reviews, integration testing, and version control
- Coordinates with systems engineers and database administrators to ensure interoperability
- Implements cybersecurity controls and compliance standards in software systems
- Prepares software documentation, release notes, and user manuals
- Provides technical direction to mid and junior-level developers
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
- Fifteen (15) or more years of experience with software engineering
- Demonstrated experience in the application of Agile, DevOps/DevSecOps
REQUIRED EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering (master’s preferred)
- Agile Developer or Certified Scrum Developer certification
PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATIONS
- Fifteen (15) or more years of experience with DOD/Navy Software Engineering
- Demonstrated experience in the application of Agile, DevOps/DevSecOps
- Experience with DoD/DoN Procedures and Policies (DoD 5000 process)
