POSITION OVERVIEW:
Wesley Seminary at Indiana Wesleyan University, a leading evangelical seminary in the Wesleyan-Holiness tradition and the official seminary of The Wesleyan Church, seeks a passionate and innovative faculty member for a full-time position in Systematic Theology to begin July 1, 2026. We are looking for a dynamic and versatile scholar-practitioner who resonates deeply with our mission to equip Christian leaders for missional ministry locally and globally.

QUALIFICATIONS: According to Indiana Wesleyan University's employment policy, all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.
REQUIRED:
· PhD, ThD, or equivalent terminal degree in a theological discipline (e.g., Systematic Theology, Dogmatic Theology, or Philosophy of Religion) or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
· A deep commitment to and heart for the local church and training pastors and Christian leaders for ministry.
- Demonstrated ability to teach effectively, especially online, with a student-centered approach.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; demonstrated ability to work effectively with colleagues and students from diverse communities and cultures.
- Enthusiastic embrace of the Wesleyan tradition and ability to function well within a learning community hosted by The Wesleyan Church.
- Facility with educational technologies such as Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel), online learning management systems, and other supplemental tools (e.g., audio and/or video recording).
- Maintain an active but sustainable agenda of scholarly engagement appropriate to a teaching-focused seminary context.
PREFERRED:
- Wesley Seminary welcomes theologians who stand within the broader Wesleyan–Holiness–Arminian tradition and who can affirm, adhere to, and teach its core theological commitments, even if they are not ordained within The Wesleyan Church.
- Demonstrated ability to engage in scholarly research and publication bridges the gap between academic research and practical ministry and contributes meaningfully to the relevant academic disciplines.
- Experience in practical ministry, bringing real-world insights to the classroom.
- A vision for equipping students to integrate theological reflection, practical skills, and a missional mindset in their ministry roles.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· A teaching load of 21 credit hours per 12-month contract period.
· Development of new course offerings and oversight of relevant courses within the faculty member’s academic discipline and in related areas such as Christian Ethics and Apologetics.
· Contribution to program assessment and review processes.
· Relevant institutional committee work and service, and relevant scholarly activity.
· This position requires relocation to the region and regular presence on IWU’s campus in Marion, Indiana.
COMPENSATION: Salary and rank commensurate with academic credentials, qualifications, and experience.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: None initially.
