Purpose:
This full-time position at Wesley Prep requires an individual who is skilled in designing interactive and engaging lessons for students in grades K-3. The classroom teacher is highly collaborative and committed to designing and adapting instruction to meet the needs of each student. They are skilled in establishing strong relationships with students and providing effective and consistent communication with parents regarding students’ behaviors, academic concerns, and progress. The lower elementary teacher is responsible for creating a joyful classroom environment that facilitates and develops the essential competencies for children at their specific grade level. The lower elementary teacher will be responsible for teaching all subject areas in a self-contained classroom setting.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Plan and teach lessons in all academic subject areas.
- Serve as a grade level team member, providing support for grade level events and projects.
- Collaborates with age level team, enrichment team and all staff members.
- Implement project-based, hands-on learning opportunities.
- Serve as a role model and advisor to our students.
- Evaluate and assess student progress.
- Communicate student progress and expectations with students and their parents.
- Share updates on student progress with colleagues at twice monthly CARE meetings.
- Use classroom management systems that are focused on students’ social emotional needs. Integrate technology appropriately and intentionally into the curriculum following best practices.
- Provide a positive environment that encourages students to actively participate in their own learning.
- Work with the team to create hallmark field trips and age level experiences.
- Attend monthly staff meetings after school.
- Attend school events in which your students participate.
- Model professional and ethical standards when working with students, families, colleagues, and the community.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $56,662.00 - $59,376.00 per year
