Role Description Part-Time (15–25 hours per week)
Wesley Memorial is seeking a Food Services Coordinator to enhance the welcoming experience of our church through food services and hospitality. This role is central to creating a warm, safe, and caring environment for our members and guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and oversee well-balanced meals, refreshments, and snacks suited for various age groups.
- Collaborate with the Congregational Care team to provide hospitality for funerals, receptions, weddings, and special events.
- Develop menus and food service plans at least 6 weeks in advance, including ordering, budgeting, and coordinating volunteers.
- Maintain kitchen and storage facilities to ServSafe and food service industry standards.
- Partner with staff, committees, and volunteer groups to ensure seamless setup, execution, and clean-up of food services.
- Supervise and coordinate volunteers while ensuring outside groups adhere to kitchen use agreements.
- Manage food services budget responsibly, ensuring efficient use of resources.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in food service management.
- Proven ability to prepare, cook, and serve meals for large groups.
- ServSafe certification (or ability to obtain).
- Experience leading and motivating volunteers or staff.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
