Duties
- Develop, plan and implant an educational children’s program servicing infants, toddlers and preschoolers in full and part-time care
- Hire, train, manage, and regularly evaluate all staff in the WCP
- Administer day-to-day operations
- Prepare and manage an annual budget
- Develop and maintain pertinent policies for all programs and staff
- Oversee procurement and inventory of supplies, equipment and other items utilized in program administration
- Maintain records and reports for all programs, including attendance, current and past employee files, monthly ledger, maintenance and safety as per State requirements
- Coordinates fundraising activities as needed
- Approve classroom curriculum and projects regularly
- Meets with staff and parents/guardians regularly
- Attends Preschool Board of Director meetings
- Reports to Chair of the Preschool Board
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or related field from an accredited university or college
- Three years of experience as a preschool teacher and/or director
- Knowledge of national and state educational standards (NECPA or NAEYC), and DHS licensing requirements
- Be certified in PATCH's registry for group childcare and with infants and toddlers
- Membership with HiAEYC (Hawaii Association of Education for Young Children) preferred
- Knowledge of health and OSHA regulations
- Have a current CPR and first aid certification
- Demonstrates ability to work with children while modeling exemplary teaching practices
- Demonstrates ability to work with families
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
