What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accountant position at Wesler & Associates CPA PC?
We are a boutique CPA firm looking to add a senior staff accountant to our team. The ideal candidate will have experience preparing and reviewing corporate and individual tax returns as well as training new tax preparers. An ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Preparation and review of tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and estates;
- Scheduling and attending client meetings;
- Assist in monthly reconciliation of QuickBooks files and other bookkeeping projects;
- Supporting other staff members with various projects;
- Maintaining client relationships;
- Tax research;
- Tax planning;
- Mentoring staff accountants;
- Monitor and manage filing deadlines, extensions, and other compliance requirements to ensure tax deadlines are met.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance OR Bachelor's degree in other focus area and CPA license or eligibility to sit for the CPA exam (Required)
- Accounting experience: 1-2 years of prior relevant tax experience in public accounting or private industry. (Required)
- Experience with Drake and/or Ultra Tax Software (Preferred)
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Suite (Preferred)
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday normal business hours during non-tax season 8am-5pm
- Overtime expected during tax season (January-April)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $58,000.00 - $62,000.00 per year
