Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties.   Responsibilities may include building, installing and maintaining equipment, performing preventative maintenance and repairs and applying knowledge in a variety of skilled trade areas. 

Essential Functions: (essential functions, including how an individual is to perform them and frequency at which tasks are performed; the tasks must be part of the job function and truly necessary or required to perform the job)

·       Installs, maintains and repairs machines and equipment in plant and related facilities

·       Performs a variety of preventative maintenance on parts, pumps, motors, hydraulic systems and related plant and facility equipment.

·       Performs a variety of maintenance requiring knowledge of plumbing, pipefitting, carpentry, electrical, electronics, welding and other skilled trades as appropriate or applicable.

·       Operates a variety of hand and power tools, equipment, and machinery in the maintenance repair, and fabrication of parts, machines and equipment.

·       Completes work orders and paperwork regarding daily maintenance and repair duties

·       Assists with contractors and subcontractors

·       Ensures compliance with operating policies and procedures to maintain a safe environment and efficient operations; may require wearing appropriate safety equipment and gear

·       Assists with maintaining a safe and clean work environment and may perform various janitorial or housekeeping tasks.

·       Performs other duties as assigned

Skills & Knowledge:

Required:

·       Good knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry and overall general maintenance

·       High mechanical ability

·       PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers) experience

·       At least one year of HVAC experience

·       At least one year of Pneumatic experience

·       Ability to use hand tools and power tools

·       MIG & TIG Welding experience

·       Familiarity with Microsoft Word & Excel

·       Ability to work in a collaborative environment

·       Good troubleshooter

·       Excellent verbal/ written communication and customer service skills

·       Solid work ethic with a commitment to consistent on-time work attendance

Preferred:

·       Familiarity with Outlook or other e-mail system

·       Master Plumber and/or Master Electrician
