IT Support Specialist - Manufacturing Facility

Job Summary:

The IT Support Specialist role requires a detail-oriented, effective, and experienced IT person to provide technical assistance and support to users across the organization. The focus of the role is desktop support, network infrastructure and hardware management.   It also includes participation in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the organization and ensure that system hardware, operating systems, and software systems are fully operational.  

Essential Functions:

• Computer management – Recommend/Install/Maintain workstations (Windows, Office, AntiVirus, etc.).  Would also include computer imaging
• Patch management (Windows, Office, AutoCAD, Antivirus Java, etc.)
• Respond in a timely manner to service issues and requests
• Provides phone, live chat, or in-person support
• Use company incident management system to properly track, resolve and escalate issues
• Cell phone management – Setting up new phones, disabling phones, changing phone numbers on devices, and assisting with business related applications
• User maintenance – Administer user accounts for both network and ERP environments (Add/Transfer/Termination).  Also includes changing network file-level permissions.
• Telephone Support – Phone and voicemail administration
• Manage external facility security camera system
• Must be able to work in a team environment

Required Skills & Knowledge:

• Must be able to work on multiple projects and prioritize accordingly
• Must be proficient in Active Directory and OU structure
• Troubleshooting and basic skills for:  Windows OS (Server/7/10) and Office (2016/O365)
• Ability to troubleshoot basic network issues
• Ability to perform short-runs of network cabling and proper 568B termination
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to perform documentation at a technical level
• Strong customer service orientation

Required Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent

Preferred Education & Experience:

• Associate's Degree
• IT Trade School studies
• Two years IT Technician Experience

Physical Requirements/ Equipment Used to Perform the Job:

• Must be able to lift 20lbs 
• Ability to reach overhead, bend, squat
• Ability to type on a computer key board & view computer monitor(s)
• Able to climb ladders 
• Able to climb stairs
• Able to walk through a manufacturing facility with uneven floors
• Appropriate PPE is required to be worn in various areas of the facility
