What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director - Sourcing position at Wesco?
As the Director - Sourcing, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategic sourcing initiatives to secure cost-effective goods. You will manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts and establishes key metrics, and mitigates supply chain risks to ensure efficiency and continuity.
Responsibilities:
- Partners with key businesses leaders and critical cross-functional leaders to establish commercial priorities.
- Identifies customer needs and leads relationships with major suppliers; gathering insight on suppliers’ key differentiations and setting strategy to improve the overall quality and pricing of products and services.
- Conducts market analysis to monitor trends, mitigate risks, and identity cost-saving opportunities.
- Manages key supplier relationships, including negotiating contracts, to ensure performance and quality.
- Establishes aligned key metrics associated with assigned categories and holds team accountable to deliver on goals: cost savings and avoidance, quality, reliability, and timely execution.
- Drives process improvement, best practices, and performance across the sourcing organization.
- Build, develop, and lead a strong and knowledgeable team in support of business objectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree - Supply Chain or Business Related Field required; Masters Degree preferred
- 8 years experience with oversight of the design and implementation of a strategic sourcing function including strategy, organization, processes, and technology
- 8 years Contract negotiation and knowledge of key contractual language
- 5 years experience with online sourcing platforms
- 3 years experience leading a team of direct reports
- Ability to collaborate with business operations and functional groups
- Experience leading change management
- Excellent communication, leadership, and presentation skills
- Ability to influence individuals and teams with or without reporting relationships
- Financial acumen to develop complex financial models, including total cost of ownership models
- Practical problem-solving approach to business issues, business-minded, results-oriented, and a team player
- Excellent creative thinking skills with emphasis on developing innovative solutions to solve complex problems
- Ability to identify profitable business opportunities and work with leadership to review and convert strategic quotation opportunities
- Ability to think critically and implement effective solutions
- Ability to travel 0% - 25%
Compensation Details $136,954 - $239,670 Annually
This amount is what we reasonably believe we will pay for the position; however, offer amounts may vary based on factors such as geographic location, relevant education, experience, qualifications, skills, shift, or any collective bargaining agreements.
For eligible positions, compensation may also include participation in a bonus or sales compensation plan paid according to achievement against sales targets and/or business objectives. Depending on the role, equity and other forms of compensation may also be provided as part of a total compensation package.
