Job Summary
We are seeking an entry level Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Helper to support our team in installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC systems. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the HVAC industry while working alongside experienced service technicians. The ideal candidate will possess mechanical knowledge, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn technical skills related to HVAC systems, refrigeration, plumbing, and equipment repair.
Duties
- Assist with installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, and refrigeration equipment.
- Support service technicians by preparing work sites and handling basic tasks such as equipment setup and cleanup.
- Read and interpret schematics and HVAC design plans to aid in system assembly and troubleshooting.
- Perform routine inspections of HVAC equipment to identify issues and assist in repairs using tools such as ohmmeters and welding equipment.
- Support property maintenance tasks related to HVAC systems and general building upkeep.
- Handle basic plumbing tasks associated with HVAC installations or repairs.
- Operate various tools and machinery safely, including welding tools and mechanical repair equipment.
- Maintain a clean work environment and adhere to safety protocols at all times.
Skills
- Basic construction knowledge with an understanding of HVAC systems.
- Service technician experience or familiarity with field service operations is a plus.
- Ability to read schematics and understand HVAC design principles.
- Mechanical knowledge related to appliances, air conditioning, boilers, and refrigeration systems.
- Experience or training in plumbing or appliance repair is advantageous.
- Ability to operate diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters effectively.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with property maintenance skills.
- Valid driver’s license for transportation to job sites when required. This position provides valuable industry experience in a dynamic environment, offering opportunities for skill development in various aspects of HVAC technology and maintenance operations.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
