What are the responsibilities and job description for the Investor Relations Analyst position at Werner Enterprises?
The Investor Relations ("IR") team is focused on delivering educational, transparent, and consistent messaging across the company’s disclosures while increasing shareholder value through the communication of our strategy, business model, and financial performance. The IR Analyst will work closely with all members of the IR team and executive leadership, partner cross-functionally across the organization on projects, and play an integral role in a wide range of activities, such as investor conferences and roadshows, quarterly earnings, rating agency relations, and industry and peer research. The successful analyst will be detail-oriented, take a proactive approach to their work, and thrive in what can be a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the company, the lines of business, strategy, competitive advantages, and challenges
- Assist with producing materials for investor conferences, roadshows, rating agency presentations, and other events
- Conduct competitive and market intelligence and peer research, including analyzing peer disclosures and delivering analysis to executive management
- Summarize company, competitor, and market trends in news and analyst reports for distribution to executive management
- Work with the website team to provide updates to the IR website
- Utilize industry tools and software and manage the IR CRM
- Support IR manager with day-to-day investor interactions, including researching and preparing responses to investor inquiries
- Identify opportunities for process optimization to streamline IR activities
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or other relevant field
- 1 to 4 years of relevant experience (e.g., equity research, investment banking, finance, or similar role)
- Ability to respect, protect, and maintain highly confidential and sensitive information
- High proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook
- Strong financial and analytical skills with an understanding of financial concepts and reporting
- Ability to quickly adapt to changes and problem solve
- Excellent written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
- Solid quantitative and analytical skills
- Self-driven with strong project management and organizational skills
- Motivated and organized self-starter with the ability to manage tasks and multiple priorities
- Ability to learn and maintain a solid understanding of company operations, financials, business segments, and key performance metrics
