What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sand and Gravel Quarry Operator position at Werner Construction Inc?
This position reports directly to the Sand & Gravel Manager.
Overview of Duties
- Assist in assuring smooth operation at the quarry location
- Maintain continuous improvement efforts to ensure the location operates at optimal effectiveness and efficiency
- Help maintain a culture focused upon safety and health, as well as compliance with company and regulatory safety, health, and environmental standards
- Work with other Quarry Managers and Werner Supervisors to ensure timely production of material
- Consistently produce high quality material while minimizing waste
- Balance Werner Construction, Inc’s needs and customer needs with production capabilities & inventory levels
- Follow an effective maintenance program to ensure that assets are maintained and work ready.
Essential Experience and Skills
- 3 or more years of production experience in sand & gravel, must have dredging experience
- Strong working knowledge of all aspects of aggregate production - equipment, processes, quality standards and production capabilities
- Understanding of safety and environmental regulations
Preferred Experience and Skills
- Stripping overburden and reclamation of material
- Mechanical experience
