As an MSR, you will have daily opportunities to build professional relationships while cheerfully serving our members’ financial needs in-person or on the phone. You will serve alongside other MSRs in a common goal to provide excellent, quality service that goes above and beyond in a refreshing, family-orientated working environment. You will be the face of WEPCO projecting a positive image to our current and prospective members! You will work one-on-one with our members to complete transactions, solve issues, provide information about WEPCO, and cross-sell products or services to meet their needs. You will carefully maintain a cash drawer with all the proper controls and ensure that it balances at the end of each shift.
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Float Member Service Representative to join our financial services team. In this versatile role, you will provide exceptional customer service, support banking operations, and assist with various financial transactions across multiple branches or departments. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, a solid understanding of banking procedures, and the ability to adapt quickly to different environments. This position offers an opportunity to develop comprehensive knowledge of financial products and services while ensuring smooth daily operations.
Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding customer service by assisting members with account inquiries, transactions, and product information
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling, cashiering, and cash management tasks
- Conduct sales activities such as upselling member products and cross-selling services to meet members needs
- Assist in fraud prevention and detection efforts by monitoring transactions for suspicious activity
- Manage member relationships through effective communication and personalized service strategies
- Support branch operations by performing basic math calculations, debits & credits, and retail math as needed
- Utilize financial software and 10-key typing skills for data entry and transaction processing
- Adapt to various roles within the branch or department as needed to ensure operational efficiency
Skills
- Strong customer service orientation with excellent communication skills
- Proficiency in financial sales, upselling, and relationship management techniques
- Knowledge of banking procedures including loan origination, loan processing, and cash handling
- Familiarity with fraud prevention and detection methods within financial transactions
- Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately using retail math, cash management, and 10-key typing skills
- Experience with financial software systems used in banking environments
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- Demonstrated ability to build rapport with members and maintain positive relationships
- Basic understanding of debit & credit operations and overall banking processes

QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN MSR
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Customer service experience
- Good communication and listening skills
- Proficient math and computer skills
- Good typing and data entry skills
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Prolonged use of hands and fingers
- Ability to lift light to heavy objects weighing 5-30 lbs.
- Experience handling money or answering phones is preferred
- Previous financial industry experience is a plus
The typical work schedule for this position is Monday-Friday and Saturday's until noon. This position will be mainly for our Keyser, LaVale, Bloomington and 2 Cumberland branches. Since it is a float position, if no employee is available in another zone, you may be needed to work in our Oakland branch as well. In those cases, mileage will be paid.
