We are seeking a dedicated and customer-oriented individual to join our team as an optician at Wentz and Woodrich Eyecare. As an Optician, you will play a crucial role in providing quality customer care and service to our clients while assisting them in selecting the perfect frames and glasses to meet their vision needs. Prior experience in the optical industry is encouraged but not required, as we are willing to train someone who is eager to learn.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients in choosing suitable frames and lenses based on their prescription, lifestyle, and personal preferences.
  • Conduct thorough measurements of clients' eyes, including pupillary distance, to ensure accurate lens fitting.
  • Advise clients on various lens options, coatings, and enhancements available to improve vision and eye comfort.
  • Provide expert guidance on frame styles, colors, and designs that complement clients' facial features and individual style.
  • Educate clients about proper eyewear care, maintenance, and cleaning techniques.
  • Perform adjustments and repairs on eyeglasses, ensuring a comfortable and secure fit for clients.
  • Keep detailed records of clients' eyewear prescriptions, measurements, and purchases for future reference.
  • Collaborate closely with the optometrist and other members of the clinic team to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in the optical industry to provide valuable insights and recommendations to clients.
  • Maintain a clean and organized dispensary area, including inventory management and order placement for frames, lenses, and other optical products.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Strong attention to detail to accurately measure and fit clients with appropriate eyewear.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and record keeping.
  • Knowledge of different frame styles, lens types, and lens enhancements is preferred but not required.
  • A willingness to learn and stay updated on industry trends and advancements.
  • Professional and friendly demeanor with a positive attitude towards teamwork and collaboration.
