About the Role
The Project Estimator plays a key role in bringing Wenger Construction projects to life. In this position, you'll review plans, specifications, and architectural details to prepare accurate and detailed estimates that set our teams up for success. You'll work closely with Sales and Project Coordination to understand project needs, identify materials and labor, and assemble bids that reflect clarity, accuracy, and value.
You'll dive into take-offs using Planswift, maintain the Bid Docket, communicate with vendors and clients, and ensure every estimate is complete, organized, and on time. This role is perfect for someone who is detail-oriented, analytical, and excited about supporting the entire project lifecycle from first look to handoff.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION
Highschool Diploma or General Education Degree Required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION
Construction Experience Preferred
Associates degree in related field or equivalent experience related to construction project estimation

Key Responsibilities
Prepare work to be estimated by evaluating drawings, building plans, specifications, and related documents.
Utilize take-off software (Planswift) to identify and code product systems, examine, and code architectural details and quantify amounts. Perform a complete and accurate take-off.
Identify labor, material, equipment, and time requirements by reviewing and studying drawings, building plans, specifications, and related documents.
Resolve discrepancies and search for answers to questions through a network of resources and avenues.
Present prepared estimate by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information in bid spreadsheet and written proposal form.
Must have strong organizational habits and track record. Will be responsible for maintaining Bid Docket.
Must have strong understanding and experience in using Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
Grow and maintain a technical knowledge of various product systems.
Communicate with clients and vendors to collect information needed to create an accurate bid.
Must be able to meet deadlines (due dates) and multi task, typically working on a few bids at any given time.
Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related tasks, as needed.
Will work closely with Sales and Project Coordination Teams. Must be good at collaboration while being great at being self-motivated to put bids together.
Will be responsible for Hand Offs once a project is sold. Pulling together all pertinent information and presenting to the Project Coordination Team where they take from there.
