Experienced Ford or Domestic Brand Automotive Technician

Wendle Ford is looking for an experienced automotive technician with strong diagnostic and repair skills to join our Ford service team.

If you are already Ford-trained, we would love to talk with you. But Ford experience is not required. If you are an experienced technician coming from another manufacturer, your previous OEM training may help you progress more quickly through Ford training through the Ford Accepted Service Training (FAST) program.

This is an opportunity for a technician who enjoys more advanced repair work, wants access to manufacturer training and diagnostic resources, and is looking for a long-term place to continue developing their skills.

Schedule & Pay:

  • Full-time, on-site, Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (hours may vary)
  • Top Technicians: Earn up to $130,000 annually, with our technician team averaging more than $80,000 in annual earnings. Individual earnings vary based on experience, skill level, diagnostic ability, productivity, and the scope and complexity of repairs performed.
  • At Wendle Ford, we recognize that warranty work can be a significant part of a dealership technician's workload.
    • Ford warranty repairs are paid at an additional $5 per flagged hour. Qualified medium-duty work also receives an additional pay differential.
  • We believe technicians should have the opportunity to increase their earning potential as their skills, certifications, productivity, and contribution to the shop grow.

Qualifications:
We are interested in technicians with:

  • At least two years of professional automotive repair experience
  • Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills
  • Electrical and drivability diagnostic experience
  • The ability to perform repairs independently and accurately
  • Good repair-order documentation habits
  • A commitment to quality workmanship
  • A willingness to continue technical training
  • Their own basic automotive technician tools
  • A valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record, as road testing customer vehicles is part of the position

Ford certification and Ford dealership experience are highly valued, but technicians from other OEM dealerships and experienced independent repair facilities are also encouraged to apply.

ASE certification, advanced diagnostics, transmission, diesel, or medium-duty experience may be especially valuable.

Responsibilities:
As an Experienced Ford Automotive Technician, you may:

  • Diagnose and repair electrical, drivability, mechanical, and vehicle-system concerns
  • Perform Ford warranty and customer-pay repairs
  • Complete Ford recalls and service campaigns
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and general automotive repairs
  • Use Ford diagnostic equipment, technical resources, and service information
  • Perform thorough vehicle inspections and identify legitimate repair and maintenance needs
  • Document diagnostic findings, cause, and correction clearly and accurately
  • Communicate repair needs and additional diagnostic time to Service Advisors
  • Perform road tests and quality-control checks as needed
  • Complete required Ford training and continue progressing toward advanced Ford certifications

Depending on your experience and qualifications, opportunities may also include advanced electrical diagnosis, transmission, diesel, and medium-duty repair.

Already Experienced With Another Manufacturer?
Don't assume you need to start over.

Ford's Ford Accepted Service Training (FAST) program may provide qualifying credit for previous OEM, ASE, military, or other recognized automotive training toward certain Ford training competencies.

If you're an experienced technician from another dealership or manufacturer, we encourage you to apply and let us evaluate how your existing experience and credentials may transfer.
