Wendel is looking to hire an enthusiastic and highly motivated future Energy Engineer Intern to work directly with our Energy team in Long Island. Our internship program provides hands-on practical experience for students while potentially developing the individual to take on a full-time role with Wendel post-graduation.
Job Purpose:
- Work on real life projects like the development of comprehensive and investment grade energy audits, including data collection, utility bill disaggregation and benchmarking.
- Actively work on projects with various energy conservation measures (ECMs) across a variety of client sectors and facility types.
- Engage in direct support of reducing greenhouse gases and climate change.
- Collaborate with Project Managers and other Engineers.
- Assist with field visits, energy calculations, cost estimates and contractor pricing, energy measure descriptions and detailed work scope packages; report writing, and project design documents.
- Develop measurement and verification plans and contract documents.
Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a degree at an accredited institution.
- Excellent PC skills. Microsoft Office software experience required.
- Experience in some technical areas (i.e., lighting, HVAC, renewables) a huge plus.
- Strong desire to learn and grow.
- Ability to work on-site and travel if needed.

Hourly Pay Range: $20.00
