What are the responsibilities and job description for the Metrology Lab Technician I position at Wencor -Provo UT?
Overview of the Position:
Assist in the reverse engineering and drawing creation of FAA approved aftermarket aircraft parts by using a variety of precision measurement tools and methods, and providing feedback and recommendations to engineers regarding part features, drawing layout and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) usage.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Competently use a variety of metrology inspection tools to assist in the reverse engineering of aircraft parts
- Use 3D CAD software to develop/interpret drawings and scans
- Perform special projects or assignment to support department
- Manage time effectively and consistently meet task deadlines
- Create dimensional data reports in Excel
- Collaborate closely with engineering and metrology groups to ensure department goals are achieved
- Mentor and assist in training of Engineering interns
- Operate OGP Starlite, optical comparator, and height gage

- Ability to work with only occasional supervision and training
Education / Experience Requirements: High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree in technical field preferred
