What are the responsibilities and job description for the Service/Parts associate position at Weltsch Equipment, Inc.?
We are seeking a knowledgeable parts/service specialist to join our team in Redwood Falls. We have been a family-owned business since 1974. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting customers in both our service and parts departments. You will act as a backup to our service manager, working with technicians, making repair orders, scheduling transportation, and scheduling service calls. In our parts department you will assist customers find the parts needed to make repairs, place orders, and order parts as requested by the service department. While a background in customer service, mechanics, or agriculture is preferred, it is not mandatory. However, a basic understanding of the farming industry is essential. Familiarity with our product range, which includes lawn mowers, tractors, combines, tillage equipment, planters, and more, is advantageous. Availability during the busy harvest and planting seasons is required.
Responsibilities
- Engage with customers to understand their parts and service needs
- Proactively contact customers to promote parts and service solutions
- Assist in scheduling shop orders and allocating service repair work
- Work alongside the parts and service departments for effective communication
- Offer continuous customer service post-sale to ensure satisfaction
- Promote upcoming sales in service and parts departments
- Support service technicians with parts, tools and scheduling
- Delegate tasks to technicians
Qualifications
- Agriculture background
- A proactive attitude combined with outstanding customer service skills to nurture long-term client relationships
- Understanding and maintaining product knowledge
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
- Parts: 1 year (Preferred)
- Service: 1 Year (Preferred)
- Customer Service: 1 year (required)
