Duties
- Assist with food production and meal preparation according to dietary guidelines and safety standards
- Serve meals to residents with professionalism, ensuring proper portioning and presentation
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen areas, dining spaces, and food service equipment in compliance with JCAHO standards
- Support dietary department operations by bussing tables, cleaning dishes, and managing food handling procedures
- Follow safe lifting practices when moving heavy items or supplies, utilizing manual handling techniques to prevent injury
- Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) during all food handling and sanitation tasks
- Work collaboratively with nursing staff and other healthcare team members to meet the nutritional needs of geriatric patients
Qualifications
- Previous experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly preferred
- Knowledge of food safety protocols, sanitation procedures, and safe lifting practices
- Strong time management skills to efficiently handle meal service schedules
- Experience with food preparation, cooking, serving, and kitchen sanitation is advantageous
- Familiarity with working with geriatric patients or in a healthcare setting enhances your ability to deliver compassionate care
- Certification in CPR and knowledge of workplace safety regulations are desirable
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while maintaining high standards of customer service and professionalism
