What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substance Use Disorder Therapist position at WELLSTONE?
Job Description: The Substance Use Disorder Treatment Therapist will be seeing clients who struggle with substance use disorder to assist them in recovery from substance abuse and co-occurring disorders through counseling, education, role modeling, and empathetic support.
What you will be doing:
- Plan, manage, and direct client caseload as well as individual treatment of clients.
- Provide clinical documentation, which is accurate, timely, and in accordance with all regulatory standards.
- Maintain clinical records to comply with all applicable standards.
- Provide Crisis Intervention and Resolution services as needed.
- Provide consultation to individuals and groups regarding substance use disorders and mental health treatment.
- Know and follow established program policies and procedures.
- Exhibit a proper attitude and work ethic as established by Program Director and Center standards.
- Meet productivity standards as defined by the Center.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

- Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, or a related field with an internship/practicum
- Ability to perform group instruction and activities
- Good organizational and documentation skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients and referral sources
- Proficient writing skills
- DSM V knowledge
- Knowledge of community agencies
- Experience preferred working with the seriously mentally ill
- Effective planning skills
- Knowledge of various clinical interventions to treat substance use disorders and mental illness
