Occupational Therapist (OT)

Job Summary

As a member of the Rehabilitation team, the Occupational Therapist provides quality care to patients referred for services by a licensed physician. This role involves utilizing evidence-based practices to assess, document, and implement treatment plans that facilitate patient recovery and enhance functional capabilities.

• Conduct evidence-based assessments and document findings in the patient’s electronic medical record (EMR).


• Develop and submit a detailed plan of care to the referring provider for approval within 24 hours of the evaluation.


• Accurately submit treatment charges daily in EMR and maintain treatment records, statistical data, and patient schedules.


• Monitor patient progress, adjusting treatment plans and making necessary referrals as required.


• Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) in patient care while providing educational support to enhance skills.


• Continuously evaluate equipment in the department for safety hazards to ensure a safe environment for patients.


• Exhibit positive behavior that promotes effective interpersonal relationships and enhances the overall image of the department.


• Assist in improving productivity and the efficient operation of the Rehabilitation Therapy Department.


• Stay current with professional knowledge, licensing, and skills while promoting an understanding of the field of occupational therapy.


• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervision.

• Prior experience as an Occupational Therapist is required.


• Experience in an inpatient setting is required.


• Active occupational therapy license in Arkansas is required.


• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required.

Standard shift is from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with a guaranteed 40-hour work week. A standby shift on one Saturday every 13 weeks is required.

There are no call requirements for this position.

All candidates must provide a skills checklist pertinent to the specialty, and two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years.
