Job Description

The Imaging Specialist IV MRI position is responsible for independently performing clinical diagnostic MRI exams in accordance with department protocols. The role requires a thorough understanding of MRI procedures and the ability to operate MRI equipment effectively.

This position typically requires working four ten-hour shifts on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. There is also a requirement for at least one on-call shift per week. Work schedules may vary based on staffing and operational needs.

• Education: Successful completion of an accredited MRI program with either a certificate or associate degree, or equivalent, or completion of ARRT advanced registry in MRI.


• Experience: A minimum of three years of experience as a magnetic resonance imaging technologist, demonstrating the ability to perform clinical diagnostic MRI and related procedures in accordance with physician orders, protocols, and quality standards.


• Certifications: Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification in MR or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (ARMRIT) certification required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within six months of employment.


• Preferred: Proficiency with GE MRI systems and EPIC. A current State of Hawaii license in any radiologic imaging modality is also highly desired.

Shifts may vary, including rotation on weekends and holidays, and may require standby and callback duty. It is essential to be adaptable to changing operational needs.
