• North Dakota License - may be registered as an Unlicensed Assistive Person, RN, or LPN.

The Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Technologist is a specialized surgical technologist who plays a crucial role in the delivery of surgical care within the operating room, focusing on heart and vascular services. This role requires expertise in sterile and aseptic techniques and a comprehensive understanding of various surgical procedures and instrumentation necessary to support the surgical team.

• Organize and prepare case setups according to standard operating procedures prior to the start of surgical cases.


• Assist the Registered Nurse with circulating duties, including preparing surgical instruments, retrieving supplies, and documenting procedures.


• Cleans, assembles, operates, and maintains instruments, supplies, and equipment used in various surgical specialties.


• Aid in the orientation and training of less experienced surgical technologists.


• Provide patient care tailored to the diagnosis and procedure, adhering to established hospital policies and guidelines.


• Document any changes to procedural methods and instruments post-surgery, ensuring accuracy in procedure cards.


• Order and stock surgical supplies as needed and assist during surgical cases with ancillary departments like Lab and Blood Bank.


• Participate in measuring and monitoring quality indicators and outcomes, acting as a subject matter expert in vascular and endovascular procedures.


• Identify and communicate specific technical requirements for surgical procedures, particularly related to complex life-saving devices and instruments.


• Perform other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the department or organization.
