Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Network Automation Engineer with strong expertise in Ansible development, Python scripting, and Git-based workflows. This role is focused on building automated solutions for network infrastructure—not traditional routing/switching. The ideal candidate is a network engineer who has evolved into a developer, capable of writing scalable, reliable automation to support enterprise environments.
The primary focus will be designing, developing, and maintaining automated workflows to streamline network operations, configuration management, and application delivery functions in a regulated, large-scale technology environment.
Responsibilities:
Automation Development & Engineering
Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks, roles, and modules to automate network infrastructure tasks.
Build automation solutions using Python, YAML, templating (Jinja), and Git-based workflows.
Create standardized, repeatable, and testable automation for provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management of network services.
Ensure automation integrates with Source of Truth (SoT) systems to maintain accuracy and compliance.
Network & Application Delivery Support
Collaborate with network engineers and application teams to automate load balancing, application delivery, and traffic management functions.
Contribute to automation that supports Layer 4–7 technologies, including load balancing and application health monitoring.
Troubleshoot and resolve automation-related issues within complex network and load balancing environments.
Operational Excellence
Support automated testing, validation, and deployment pipelines to improve delivery speed and reliability.
Participate in capacity, performance, and resiliency assessments for network and application delivery environments.
Assist in developing documentation, runbooks, architecture diagrams, and operational standards.
Collaboration & Governance
Work closely with infrastructure, security, and application teams to ensure automation aligns with enterprise policies.
Contribute to governance practices, including code reviews, version control, and CI/CD pipelines.

Strong experience as an Ansible developer, including writing complex playbooks, modules, and roles.
Proficiency in Python for automation and scripting.
Experience with Git for version control and collaborative development.
Solid understanding of network principles and data models (though this role is not a routing/switching position).
Experience supporting or automating network and/or application delivery technologies.
Experience working in large financial services or other highly regulated environments.
Familiarity with load balancing technologies (SME not required).
Knowledge of:
Infrastructure-as-Code principles
Automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines
