Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in various facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all occupants. This role requires a proactive approach to custodial duties, with an emphasis on commercial cleaning and facilities maintenance.
Duties
- Perform routine custodial tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting to maintain cleanliness in assigned areas.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and common areas to ensure hygiene standards are met.
- Conduct floor care activities such as buffing and waxing to maintain the appearance of flooring surfaces.
- Assist with industrial cleaning tasks as needed, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and report any shortages or equipment malfunctions.
- Respond promptly to cleaning requests from staff or management, demonstrating flexibility in task assignments.
- Support residential painting projects as required, contributing to the overall upkeep of facilities.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and high standards of cleanliness across all areas.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in custodial or commercial cleaning roles is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of floor care techniques and equipment operation is a plus.
- Familiarity with facilities maintenance practices is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Must possess a strong work ethic and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks associated with custodial duties.
