CONCRETE FINISHER

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Responsible for smoothing out, leveling, and finishing freshly poured concrete.

Salary range $25 - $29/ Hr. Based on experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Spread, level and smooth concrete using rake, shovel, hand or power trowel, hand or power screed and float.
• Operate power vibrator to consolidate concrete.
• Use hand and/or power tools for finishing concrete, including hand trowel and power trowel.
• Understand/read blueprints to properly set up forms.
• Maintain a neat and orderly work area, including keeping tools and equipment clean.
• Follow 5S procedures to ensure quality specifications.
• Follow safety procedures and safe work practices.
• Work with the Quality Control Department to ensure optimal quality.
• Take direction from their Team Leader and Supervisor
• Flexible to perform work in any area including Architectural, Spancrete, Yard, Finish Building, and other areas as needed.
• Come to work with a good attitude and work the hours needed to fulfill the job requirements.
• Knowledge of the day-to-day tasks that are performed and are aware of what the next step is without being told.
• Maintain a professional relationship with employees in the plant and office.
• Support the company policies and have a positive attitude while working.

EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

• High School Diploma or GED
• Concrete finishing experience in the above stated areas preferred.
• Ability to judge concrete curing and leveling.
• General math skills and ability to read tape measure and blueprint.
• Demonstrated history of accepting responsibility for product finish and product quality.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ ADA ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Physically able to lift up to 75 lbs, occasionally.
• Physically able to push, pull, lift, bend, climb, kneel, twist, squat, crawl and use hands/forearms repetitively and frequently.
• Ability to move around for up to 12 hours per day.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Moderate to high risk of exposure to unusual elements.
• Moderate to high risk of safety precautions.
• Moderate to high exposure to production environment.
• Wet, hot, humid, and wintry conditions (weather related) (plant specific)
• Ability to work outside year-round (plant specific)
