Summary:
This position is responsible for developing, configuring, and maintaining systems and processes that support enterprise, manufacturing, and distribution operations, including enterprise resource planning (ERP), warehouse management systems (WMS), and manufacturing execution systems (MES).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with business process owners to design and develop effective solutions that meet requirements for functionality and integration with existing components.
- Execute development activities for change requests and new system functionality, following proper testing and SDLC processes.
- Study and understand all current and upcoming system requirements, including both fine-level details and overarching strategic goals, and communicate this information effectively to staff members and executives.
- Create programs and reports to standardize processes, improve efficiencies, and eliminate manual workflows.
- Evaluate existing components or systems to determine integration requirements and to ensure final solutions meet organizational needs.
- Analyze system data, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with IT and Operations to enhance workflows.
- Review current business processes and identify areas for improvement and cost savings, as it relates to upcoming changes in business direction.
- Coordinate and communicate with process owners to gather change request requirements and create detailed documentation of the changes.
- Analyze system data to identify areas for improvement in warehouse operations, such as picking accuracy, shipping times, and inventory management.
- Identify and resolve issues related to the ERP/WMS, including configuration issues, data inconsistencies, and system errors.
- Execute development activities for change requests and new system functionality, following proper testing and SDLC processes.
- Create thorough documentation records of design specifications and instructional manuals as necessary to enable all end users to interact correctly and effectively with affected systems.
- Train and support all impacted users on implementation.
- Other job activities as assigned.
Essential Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Experience:
- Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems or related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred; 2 years of ERP and/or WMS experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- SQL or related database experience required
- Progress OpenEdge, Python, or similar business application development background required
- Innovative problem-solver and motivated strategist
- Ability to analyze data, review program code, and make system improvements
- Ability to work simultaneously on multiple tasks while handling changes in priorities
- Strong attention to detail skills with the ability to work independently
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to exhibit excellent customer service skills
- Ability to travel, as needed
