Job Summary
Wells Preparatory Academy is seeking a Daycare Lunch & Kitchen Manager to oversee daily meal preparation and kitchen operations for our childcare program. The ideal candidate must have experience with USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) documentation and compliance and a passion for serving nutritious meals to children.
Responsibilities
Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks that meet USDA CACFP meal pattern requirements
Maintain accurate USDA Food Program documentation, including:
Daily meal counts
Menus and menu substitutions
Production records
Food temperature, cleaning, and sanitation logs
Ensure kitchen cleanliness and compliance with Arkansas Department of Health and childcare licensing regulations
Order food, manage inventory, and control food costs
Follow allergy, special diet, and infant feeding requirements
Assist with USDA monitoring visits and audits
Train and supervise kitchen staff as needed
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized kitchen environment
Experience with USDA CACFP documentation (REQUIRED)
Knowledge of creditable foods, portion sizes, and meal components
Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
Ability to pass background check and health screening
Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
Preferred Qualifications
ServSafe Certification (or willingness to obtain)
Previous experience in a childcare center, school, or institutional kitchen
Familiarity with Arkansas DHS childcare regulations
