Wells International is a meduim size and fast growing Distributor of Grocery and General Merchandise, CPG goods. We are primarily an importer/wholesaler of Grocery & GM Retail products located in the city of Santa Fe Springs, California. We are looking to hire an energetic and inspiring Sales Manager who is eager to oversee our sales growth and manage a team of Sales Agents.
You will be responsible for strategically generating sales in all areas and for managing, mentoring and developing /- 25 Sales Agents to help ensure their success. This is a fast growing company. We do not have 25 Sales Agents, you are going to build that. This position has never existed before, you are going to build that as well. So you need to come prepared and with the experience to build a major Grocery/GM Distributors Sales group.
You will be closely involved in building and maintaining relationships with key customers in the SoCal region, developing a thorough understanding of customers’ needs and identifying key target accounts. You will work closely with our Sales Director to develop a sales strategy for continued growth and participate in the roll-out of these plans to our Sales Managers.
We are looking for someone with 5 years of sales experience in the grocery and/or GM retail products industry with demonstrated ability to aggressively grow new business, experience selling to retailers, competitive attitude, excellent communication skills, demonstrated ability to work independently. We also need someone with strong leadership and coaching skills who is committed to developing and supporting the success of their sales team.
This is not a remote position and there is no remote or hybrid option. The candidate will be working out of Santa Fe Springs, Ca.
Responsibilities
- Achieve growth and hit sales targets by successfully managing the sales team
- Own recruiting, objectives setting, coaching and performance monitoring of sales representatives
- Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs
- Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status
Skills
- AA/BS/MS degree in business administration or a related field a plus.
- Successful previous experience in Grocery, CPG, or Wholesale sales, consistently meeting or exceeding targets
- Proven ability to drive the sales process from forecast to plan to close
- Excellent mentoring, coaching and people management skills
- Bi-lingual Spanish a strong plus
